“R&B Divas” tells the current real-life story of five multi-talented, beautiful R&B stars – Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Syleena Johnson, Monifah Carter, and Keke Wyatt. The docu-series captures the friends as they come together to record a charity album inspired by the late Whitney Houston. Resilient and dynamic, these R&B Divas not only continue to build their own lives and careers, but also pay their good fortune forward, helping others along the way. At the same time, they are all juggling myriad personal challenges, triumphs and responsibilities in addition to making music – including raising families. Through it all, these women have a genuine sisterhood. They love each other, argue with each other, and celebrate each other. One of the few constants in their lives is the strength of their friendship.
Beginning Monday, August 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. CT with eight one-hour episodes, the beautiful and equally talented divas will give a personal glimpse into their private worlds as they lean on each other and offer candid revelations about their efforts to deal with major life challenges and transitions such as divorce, parenting issues, drugs, alcohol, physical abuse and more. They have pasts, they have futures…but most importantly, they have each other. The series is filmed primarily in Atlanta, with additional shooting in Washington, DC, New York and New Orleans. The series is produced for TV One by Thinkfactory Media, Executive Producers are Adam Reed, Adam Freeman, and Leslie Greif. Co-Executive Producers are Phil Thornton, Paul Coy Allen, Faith Evans and Nicci Gilbert. Executive In Charge of production for TV One is Jubba Seyyid.
